The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

Clare and I are thriving in San Diego, but I do fondly look back on such Penn State experiences as sleeping (and snoring loudly) on the English Dept. mailroom sofa, skinny-dipping with a girlfriend in the (then-new) campus swimming pool after a night at the Rathskeller and the Phyrst; and, years later, standing in front of English classes as a lecturer in technical writing, my voice ringing in familiar rooms where I once sat -- wonderfully evocative old classrooms (in Sackett, Henderson, and Sparks) with high ceilings, tall windows, fitful radiators, and the eternal scholastic aromas of wax, chalk, paper and dust.
